About the RoleThe Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for practicing in accordance with the Licensed Practical Nurses Act of Manitoba, CLPNM Standards of Practice, CLPNM Code of Ethics, and Scope of Practice Entry-Level Competencies. They will also be required to obtain and maintain relevant competencies for the position as offered by PMH.
Responsibilities:- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Practice in accordance with the Licensed Practical Nurses Act of Manitoba, CLPNM Standards of Practice, CLPNM Code of Ethics, and Scope of Practice Entry-Level Competencies.
- Obtain and maintain relevant competencies for the position as offered by PMH.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Active practicing licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM), or eligible for active practicing licensure with the (CLPNM).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Training as delineated in Prairie Mountain Health Policy PPG-00002 CPR Training.
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications and other Information Technology.
- One (1) year equivalent full-time experience in an outpatient surgical care area as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the last three (3) years.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures in a changing environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and competence of skills and concepts related to the position.
- Demonstrated communication skills.
- Ability to respect and promote confidentiality.
- Ability to perform the duties of the position on a regular basis.
- Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population.
- Ability to work effectively and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, clients, and within interdisciplinary teams.
- Satisfactory employment record required.
Prairie Mountain Health offers a competitive salary range of $55-$65 per hour, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a pension plan.
