Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Elementary Music Teacher to join our team as a District Itinerant Music Educator. This is a full-time position that will require the successful candidate to provide music instruction to students in elementary schools across the district.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality music instruction to students in elementary schools
  • Develop and implement engaging music curriculum that meets the needs of diverse learners
  • Collaborate with other music teachers and education staff to ensure consistency and quality of music education across the district
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field
  • Valid BC Teaching Certificate
  • Member in good standing with the BC Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch
  • Experience as an Elementary Music Teacher
  • Training in the Kodaly method and/or the Orff approach to music instruction
  • Strong singing skills
