About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Lending Director to join our team at Metro Bank Plc. As a key member of our Regional Commercial team, you will play a critical role in driving future growth and success for the Bank.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Business Development: Develop and execute a business plan to drive growth and expansion of our commercial lending customer base.
  2. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key market professionals and players, ensuring a strong external presence for Metro Bank.
  3. Risk Management: Manage all aspects of risk, including credit, operational, and regulatory, to ensure the Bank's assets are protected.
  4. Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver required propositions and pricing requirements, risk policies, and reporting.
  5. Leadership: Demonstrate leadership and influence within the Regional Commercial Team and across Metro Bank, promoting a One Team approach.
Requirements
  1. Proven Track Record: A proven track record of relationship management skills and specialist sector knowledge within commercial/corporate banking environments.
  2. Credit Underwriting: Excellent credit underwriting skills, with a track record of lending to medium and large SMEs.
  3. Business Acumen: A strong understanding of different industries and sectors, with high levels of experience and intuition in decision making.
  4. Communication: Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to interact and influence senior/executive management internally and externally.
  5. Education: Ideally, an Associateship of Chartered Institute of Bankers or equivalent.
