Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our patients by helping them regain their independence and achieve optimal health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Intervention
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical and cognitive status, functional abilities, needs, and goals to identify areas for improvement. Develop and implement evidence-based intervention strategies to address these needs and promote optimal health outcomes. - Collaboration and Communication
Work collaboratively with patients, caregivers, rehabilitation assistants, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective care plans. Communicate effectively with patients and their families to ensure their needs are met and they are empowered to take an active role in their care. - Education and Training
Provide education and training to patients and their families on self-management, health promotion, and injury/disability prevention. Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of rehabilitation assistants and other healthcare professionals. - Quality Improvement
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of care and promote evidence-based practice. Identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations for review and implementation. - Research and Development
Participate in approved occupational therapy and interprofessional research, special projects, and committees to enhance and optimize the delivery of care.
- Current full registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC.
- Knowledge of occupational therapy theory and practice within a patient and family-centered model of care.
- Knowledge of the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia standards of practice and practice guidelines for clinical practitioners.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, caregivers, rehabilitation assistants, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
- Ability to establish workload priorities and adjust to unexpected events.
