Landscape Worker Job Description

At Alberta Ltd., we are seeking a skilled Landscape Worker to join our team. As a key member of our outdoor maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the beauty and functionality of our outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with landscape constructions, including planting, pruning, and trimming trees and plants.
  • Tie and secure plants, ensuring they are properly anchored and secure.
  • Weed, prune, and trim trees and plants to maintain their health and appearance.
  • Cut grass and other vegetation to maintain a neat and tidy appearance.
  • Rake and collect refuse, ensuring our outdoor spaces are free from debris.
  • Remove litter and garbage, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Cart and spread topsoil and other materials, as needed.
  • Lay sod or seed, ensuring a lush and vibrant appearance.
  • Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees, enhancing the beauty of our outdoor spaces.
  • Apply fertilizers, as needed, to promote healthy plant growth.
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, ensuring they receive the necessary care.
  • Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months.
  • Work site environment: Outdoors.
  • Work setting: Urban area, rural area, various locations, landscape maintenance, park and recreation sites, private residence, commercial.
  • Transportation/travel information: Willing to travel regularly.
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling.
  • Personal suitability: Dependability, flexibility, reliability, team player, punctuality, hardworking.
