Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical Device Technician - Sterilization to join our team at St. Joe's. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of reusable medical devices and equipment. Your expertise in infection control principles and aseptic techniques will be essential in maintaining the highest standards of hygiene.

About the Position
This position requires strong technical skills and knowledge of medical device reprocessing procedures. You will be responsible for decontaminating, assembling, and testing medical devices and equipment, ensuring they meet strict quality and safety standards. Your ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities
- Decontaminate, assemble, and test medical devices and equipment according to established protocols
- Develop and maintain accurate records of device and equipment maintenance and cleaning
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure smooth operations and effective communication
- Identify and report any issues or concerns related to device or equipment functionality

Essential Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Valid MDRAO and/or CSAO certification plus recent MDR experience
- Strong understanding of infection control principles and aseptic techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift and push heavy loads and stand for long periods

Work Environment
This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels. You must be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues.
