New Flyer is a leading manufacturer of heavy-duty transit buses, and we are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Designer to join our team. As a key member of our Electrical New Product Development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for our buses, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems for heavy-duty transit buses, including multiplexing systems, CAN bus networks, and sensor interfacing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure electrical systems meet customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Perform engineering calculations and analysis to ensure compliance with design criteria and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including engineering drawings and release documents.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design and development for heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD, and familiarity with engineering analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of automotive standards, including SAE J1939, ISO 11898, and ISO 26262.
