About the Role

The Facilities Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including mechanical, electrical, and other supporting systems. This involves performing structured inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance, routine and on-demand services on facility mechanical equipment and other systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, mechanical equipment, and systems to identify areas for enhancement and repair.
  • Perform work in accordance with established processes and practices, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements, including environmental, health, and safety, fire protection.
  • Maintain accurate records of facility walkthroughs, monitoring and inspection results, and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Operate facility mechanical and other systems as required, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Assist in the implementation of a preventative maintenance program, identifying and addressing deficiencies, and maintaining related documents.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with tenants and customers through excellent service delivery and communication.
  • Participate in facility-related projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to corporate policies and guidelines.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma plus trades training and/or certification or licensing.
  • Minimum 3 years experience providing preventive and corrective maintenance on heating ventilation and air conditions systems, or pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
  • Sound knowledge of processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and other building systems and equipment.
  • Possesses a strong environmental, health, and safety mindset.
  • Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC Systems.
  • Effective communication skills for data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.
  • Mentoring skills required to support lower-level technician's development.
  • Able to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency callouts as they arise.
  • Capable of obtaining appropriate security clearance.
  • Holds a valid driver's license.

Licenses and Professional Accreditation

  • Building Operator Certification or equivalent through an accredited institution required.
  • Provincial HVAC or apprentice license (ex: Gasfitter I & II license refrigeration license).

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on location and experience.
