About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Naval Architect to join our team at Royal Caribbean Group. As a key member of our naval architecture team, you will play a critical role in the design and development of our ships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design and development of new ship projects, including concept design, feasibility studies, and technical feasibility assessments.
  • Collaborate with our Maritime Technology team to develop and implement new technologies and innovations.
  • Work closely with our shipyards and external design and technical design specialists to gather insights and expertise.
  • Develop and maintain collaboration with our team, including NB Business & Strategy, Maritime Technology, and other key stakeholders.
  • Actively coordinate the different disciplines by leading the project general arrangement plan development.
  • Participate in ships' Naval Architectural and regulatory work with classification society, Flag administration, USCG, etc.
  • Apply knowledge of relevant rules and regulations to the design process.
  • Assess and advise specifications, measurements, and calculations relevant to ship design.
  • Stay current on relevant maritime industry and technical research and projects; seek information and evaluate new technology with knowledge experts.

Requirements

  • M.Sc. Naval Architect or equal with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the field of naval architecture in the cruise shipbuilding industry.
  • Proficiency in Excel, MS Word, MS Project or equivalent, PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of various computer-aided design programs and analysis programs.
  • Good skills to analyze and develop specifications, drawings, layouts, and other technical documentation.
  • Understanding of shipbuilding project and programming processes.
  • Operational knowledge of SOLAS, IMO, classification rules, and marine standards.
  • Fluency in English; other languages as an advantage.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Good skills for communication and co-operation in a multicultural working environment.
  • Willingness to travel.
