Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Sienna Senior Living. As a critical role within our communities, this position will impact the lives of residents and ignite the warmth of human connection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician's orders, and the resident plan of care.
  • Utilize sound nursing practice principles to deliver excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s).
  • Ensure the safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and follow protocols on all assigned shifts.
  • Create a comfortable and safe environment that promotes privacy, dignity, autonomy, independence, and individuality.
  • Optimize each resident's potential to achieve or maintain maximum functional ability.
  • Seek direction from the RN when resident needs exceed experience or scope of practice.
  • Exercise sound nursing judgment by reporting any change in resident status in a timely manner to the Registered Nurse as necessary.
  • Foster an atmosphere that is conducive to the provision of optimal care and the effective functioning of the assigned resident home area.
  • Liaise with medical team members, nurse specialists, consultants, and support effective clinical care for all residents.
  • Continually assess and improve nursing practice and learning needs.
  • Participate in and attend in-service programs, conferences, seminars, and workshops.
  • Document priorities, target dates, and strategies or interventions on the individualized care plan.
  • Work with the resident, family members, and interprofessional team to systematically collect data for the nursing history.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Practical Nursing.
  • Current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses BC.
  • Successful annual completion of RAI MDS certification as per Ministry of Health requirements for AIS.
  • Current First Aid with CPR.
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Long Term Care Experience.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive wage leveling rate of pay of $41.35 per hour until such time that wage leveling ends, then the pay rate will reflect the collective agreement pay rates. We also offer a range of benefits, including dental care, employee stock purchase plan, extended health care, on-site parking, RRSP match, vision care, and wellness program.
