About the Role

Northwestern Polytechnic is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Child Development Worker to join our team. As a key member of our Demonstration Day Care, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with other staff members in the program
  • Demonstrate appropriate practice in interaction with children and ensure the philosophy of developmentally sound practice is reflected in programming
  • Model positive guidance strategies and maintain health and safety practices, procedures, and protocols
  • Record observations of the children throughout the year, document emergent literacy, emergent numeracy, growth, and development in all areas, collect samples, videotape, and photographs to illustrate
  • Provide supervision and model for practicum students in the Early Learning and Childcare Program

Requirements

Verified Level 1, 2, or 3 Early Childhood Educators are eligible for the relevant Alberta Government wage top-up in addition to the base salary. Employees typically work a 35-hour work week (7-hour work day) with specific schedules to be discussed at interview.
