Master Metalworker

We are seeking a highly skilled Master Metalworker to join our team at First Hire Inc. as a Layout and Fabrication Specialist.

This is a permanent position requiring 40 hours of work per week, with no degree, certificate, or diploma needed. We require candidates with at least one year but less than two years of experience in this field.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, efficient communication, initiative, organization, reliability, and teamwork abilities. A high level of manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and ability to work in physically demanding conditions are also essential.

The work environment is noisy, requiring individuals who can maintain their concentration in such conditions.

• Determine materials required for projects.
• Interpret engineering drawings and others' instructions to plan methods and sequences of operation.
• Lay out reference points and patterns for metal fabrication.
• Plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal efficiently.
• Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements.
• Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures.
• Weld or bolt sections together.
• Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines.
• Install fabricated components in final products.
• Rig, hoist, and move materials to storage areas or within the worksite.

Candidates must be proficient in MIG and TIG welding techniques.

Familiarity with brakes, presses, cutting torches, drills, grinders, shears, and saws is required.

We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 - $60,000 per annum, based on location and experience. This estimate may vary depending on individual qualifications and performance.
