Halifax Regional Municipality is seeking a qualified Yoga Instructor - Parent and Baby Specialist to lead Parent & Baby Yoga programs for babies and infants up to 18 months old at the LeBrun Recreation Centre.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supervising sessions to ensure the safety of all participants;
  • Developing a specific program plan;
  • Supporting persons with disabilities in programs when required;
  • Greeting participants, leading activities, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of participants, and providing excellent customer service;
  • Organizing equipment and supplies and preparing for activities;
  • Carrying out emergency procedures and providing First Aid treatment as required;
  • Carrying out assigned duties in an effective and responsible manner;

Applicants must have:

  • Experience working or volunteering with the public in a recreational setting;
  • Applicable fitness certification in group fitness/personal training and/or certified in area of specialty;
  • Experience working or volunteering instructing Yoga in a recreational setting;
  • Current certification in Emergency First Aid and Level C CPR or willingness to obtain;
  • Ability to complete screening through a Criminal Records Check and Child Abuse Registry if applicable;
  • Willingness to obtain all required training, including HIGH FIVE training and WHMIS training if applicable.

Selected applicants must complete an employment screening check, including a Child Abuse Registry Check and a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.

This is a casual/seasonal position, September 2024 - June 2025, with a salary of $36.20 per hour (Non-Union).
