Job Summary

Western 1 Drywall Ltd. is seeking a skilled Insulation Specialist to join our team. As an Insulation Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality insulation installation in our drywall projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Selecting the appropriate insulation type for each project, considering factors such as thermal performance, moisture resistance, and fire safety.
  • Measuring and cutting insulation materials to precise dimensions using hand and power tools, ensuring accurate fitment and minimal waste.
  • Applying and securing insulation using various methods, including spraying, blowing, pasting, strapping, taping, and other approved techniques.
  • Fitting insulation around obstructions and between joists and studs, ensuring a seamless and airtight seal.
  • Applying waterproofing cement or other materials over insulating materials to prevent moisture ingress and ensure durability.
  • Fabricating and applying removable insulation pads and covers to protect insulation from damage and facilitate maintenance.
  • Assembling, erecting, and dismantling scaffolding, rigging, and hoisting equipment to access hard-to-reach areas and ensure safe working conditions.
  • Removing asbestos, ceramic fibers, lead, and urea-formaldehyde insulation materials from buildings, following strict safety protocols and regulations.
  • Interpreting blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements and ensure accurate installation.
  • Working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in insulation installation or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, with a focus on safety and risk management.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy materials.
  • English language proficiency as the primary language of communication.
  • 40 hours per week work schedule, with flexibility to adapt to project demands.
