Cabinetmaker Job Description

Benson Cabinetry & Millwork is seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker to join our team. As a Cabinetmaker, you will be responsible for designing, building, and installing custom cabinets and furniture for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and build custom cabinets and furniture using various materials and techniques.
  • Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers, to cut, shape, and form parts and components.
  • Prepare specifications of custom-made cabinets that maximize storage.
  • Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files.
  • Study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made.
  • Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete units and reinforce joints.
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics.
  • Apply varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Estimate costs and materials.
  • Utilize hand and power tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain work materials and supplies.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in woodworking or a related field.
  • Or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Own transportation.
Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced, with a focus on attention to detail and physical demands. The Cabinetmaker will be required to handle heavy loads and work in a non-smoking environment.
