Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Practice Lead to join our team at Professional Engineers Ontario. As a key member of our practice advisory program, you will play a vital role in promoting professional standards and regulatory compliance across the province.

About the Role

The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries related to professional practice, ethics, and regulatory obligations. You will be responsible for providing expert guidance on professional practice and ethical standards, interpreting and explaining relevant regulations and guidelines, and developing educational materials to improve understanding of engineering practice requirements.

In this dynamic role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with licensed engineers, government agencies, industry associations, and other stakeholders to promote regulatory clarity and advance engineering practice standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to inquiries from engineers, the public, and stakeholders regarding professional practice, ethics, and regulatory obligations.
  • Interpret and explain relevant regulations and guidelines, including the Professional Engineers Act and associated practice guidelines.
  • Develop and deliver educational materials, such as FAQs, presentations, and webinars, to improve understanding of engineering practice requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging trends and issues in engineering practice and recommend updates to PEO guidelines.
Requirements
  • Licensed P.Eng. in Ontario with a minimum of 4 years of engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of professional standards, regulations, and engineering ethics.
  • Familiarity with issues and practice in a broad range of engineering disciplines.
