About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Floor Covering Installer to join our team at Groome Floor Coverings Inc. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality flooring installations for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and measure surfaces to be covered, marking them accurately for installation
  • Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding to ensure a smooth installation process
  • Prepare detailed flooring plans and schedules to meet client needs
  • Install a variety of floor coverings, including carpeting, resilient flooring, and hardwood
  • Conduct thorough inspections and repairs of damaged floor coverings
  • Perform moisture, pH, temperature, and other tests prior to flooring installations
  • Prepare floors for installation, removing existing coverings and contaminants as needed
  • Install vinyl decking materials and ensure a safe and clean work environment
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure seamless project execution
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in the flooring industry
  • Permanent employment with a standard 40-hour workweek
  • Fluency in English
