Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Reinbold Engineering Group. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading complex mechanical HVAC and Plumbing projects from design development to construction completion.

About the Role

This is a senior-level position that requires strong leadership skills, excellent technical knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You will oversee a team of mechanical designers, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design development process for large-scale mechanical HVAC and Plumbing projects
  • Develop and implement design standards and best practices
  • Mentor and supervise mechanical designers to ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate mechanical systems and design
  • Analyze client proposals and specifications to determine cost-effective design solutions
  • Select and specify mechanical equipment in collaboration with suppliers and manufacturers
  • Prepare schematic design, design development, and construction drawings
  • Review and revise designs to meet project requirements and company standards
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely completion of projects
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering design, preferably in a leadership role
  • Detailed understanding of building systems, including architectural, structural, civil, electrical, and fire safety
  • Strong knowledge of current codes and standards, including plumbing and building codes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in software programs, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office
