Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team at SGS. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the flow of cleaned supplies to meet production requirements, washing, baking, and storing glassware, and participating in the spike witness program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the flow of cleaned supplies to meet production requirements
  • Wash, bake, and store glassware
  • Participate in the spike witness program
  • Take a physical inventory of glassware
  • Ensure Eye Wash and Emergency Shower stations and spill kit supplies are kept in a clean and ready-to-use state

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Stock approved solvents in the solvent shed
  • Report temperatures of lab equipment daily
  • Remove powders for muffle oven
  • Process consumed jars
  • Cut copper foil for lab use
  • Clean field sampling containers
  • Maintain an adequate level of lab supplies and glassware
  • Bake consumable lab supplies
  • Maintain a sufficient stock of Seastar water
  • Remove recyclables throughout the lab
  • Remove waste solvents from the lab and maintain disposal records
  • Solvent rinse glassware for analyst use
  • Basic maintenance of lab equipment
  • Prepare mixed reagents proactively and as required
  • Participate in the spike witness program
  • Maintain adequate solvent storage levels

Requirements:

  • High School Education
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and energetic
  • Willingness to participate in flexible work schedules
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects
  • Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Works well under pressure
  • Ensures full compliance with company policies
