Job Summary

The Operations Manager at RONA Inc. is responsible for overseeing the daily management of operations, including efficient product flow, analyzing production volume, and re-evaluating resources to meet customer demand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine workload and monitor inventory movements throughout the day;
  • Use planning matrix to assess staffing requirements;
  • Communicate effectively with management team regarding business objectives and safety issues;
  • Instill a culture of safety in the workplace;
  • Identify and escalate safety issues to the appropriate party;
  • Ensure supervisors adopt the culture and respect expectations;
  • Communicate and collaborate with human resources business partner in hiring staff;
  • Mentor supervisors and monitor their performance;
  • Ensure the success of their team and meet or exceed key performance indicators;
  • Participate in succession planning;
  • Report key performance indicators and financial results to management;
  • Monitor and determine labor budgets for all assigned areas;
  • Identify process improvements and contribute to their implementation;
  • Accelerate receiving, picking, and shipping of priority products;
  • Ensure cross-training is completed and updated;
  • Inspect the physical condition of the distribution center and equipment daily;
  • Promote and develop a flexible working environment;
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the General Site Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience;
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive management experience in a high-volume distribution center;
  • Ability to build and lead a high-performance team;
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization;
  • Experience working with integrated warehouse management system and transportation management system;
  • Ability to effectively lead projects from inspection to implementation;
  • Ability to make quick, sound decisions based on limited information and changing conditions;
  • Analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills for identifying and creatively solving complex problems;
  • Strong computer skills and experience with software applications;
  • Excellent sense of priorities and time management;
  • Proven track record of compliance with safety requirements.
