About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team at Federated Co-operatives Limited. As a key member of our Pharmacy department, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of all prescription dispensing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain, interpret, and evaluate all prescriptions to ensure therapeutic appropriateness, cost-effectiveness, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with healthcare professionals in the community to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Supervise Pharmacy Assistants and Technicians to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of all prescription dispensing processes.
  • Oversee all dispensing duties carried out by a Pharmacy Assistant to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of all prescription dispensed.
  • Ensure all medication dispensing processes are accurate and appropriately managed.

Requirements:

  • You have a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (or a Doctorate in Pharmacy) from a recognized institution and are registered with the Alberta College of Pharmacy.
  • Preference is given to those with Additional Prescribing Authority (APA) designation or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • You're familiar with the Kroll pharmacy system (preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Strong leadership skills with a high level of integrity and work ethic.
  • Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Ability to adapt to new technology.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment.
  • Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Action-oriented with a positive, energetic approach.
