Job Summary:

The AMLATF Investigator is a critical role within Coast Capital Savings, responsible for detecting, preventing, and investigating criminal activity related to Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (AMLATF) compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations into suspicious activity, analyzing account history and source documents to identify potential money laundering and terrorist financing activities.
  • Assess the risk of customers' accounts and provide recommendations to minimize risk and improve efficiency in AMLATF compliance.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance AMLATF compliance, working closely with the Senior Manager, Financial Intelligence Unit.
  • Monitor high-risk accounts for potential money laundering and terrorist financing activities, identifying and reporting suspicious activity to relevant authorities.
  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to other departments and employees on AMLATF risks and functions, ensuring compliance with relevant statutes and regulations.
  • Develop and present training programs to employees on AMLATF compliance, software functionality, and relevant statutes.
  • Act as a primary resource for software functionality, providing technical support and guidance to employees.
  • Assist the Senior Manager, Financial Intelligence Unit in achieving department goals through projects, initiatives, and compliance program development.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of relevant statutes, including the Criminal Code, PCMLTFA, and related case law.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years of job-related experience is required.
  • High School Diploma and additional post-secondary courses, with a focus on law enforcement or criminology.
  • Proficient understanding of Coast Capital Savings processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Proficient skills with Word, data, spreadsheet, and communication software programs.
  • Proficient knowledge of Coast Capital Savings Banking system and computer applications, including database management, word processing, and user-specific security computer programs.
