At Health Careers in Saskatchewan, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a Communicable Disease Outreach Registered Nurse.
This is a permanent, full-time position that requires a strong background in sexual health, HIV, and Hepatitis C case management. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of First Nations culture and traditions.
The Communicable Disease Outreach Registered Nurse will work in conjunction with the First Nations Inuit Health Branch to provide client care and support health services in member communities and at the STC Health Centre.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist and support health services in member communities and at the STC Health Centre, with a focus on HIV, Hepatitis C, STBBIs, sexual health, and harm reduction.
- Collaborate with the STBBI team to provide harm reduction education for staff and clients in urban and rural communities.
- Provide assistance and support to communities' harm reduction and sexual health programs and delivery of these services.
- Engage with urban and rural communities to improve 90/90/90.
- Support the Community Health Nurses/STC Health Centre Nurse in case management, including testing and linkages to care and treatment.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
- Clinical experience in administering point of care testing, venipuncture, and immunizations is preferred.
- Experience in Community Health Nursing is an asset.
- Knowledge in the areas of HIV, HCV, STIs, and harm reduction.
- Demonstrated case management practices and experience in conducting case reviews.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of multi-cultural issues, addictions, mental health issues, family violence, sexual health, blood-borne infections, and issues related to the impact of systemic challenges.
