Agriculture Resident Heavy Equipment Technician

Brandt is currently seeking an experienced Agriculture (John Deere) Resident Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in Lethbridge, reporting to our Pincher Creek, AB branch.

This role is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments in a shop environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and diagnose the working condition of heavy duty equipment, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair as needed.
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Utilize related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems.
  • Accurately document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken.
  • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards.
  • Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
  • Locate parts using parts catalogues and order from parts personnel.
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.
Requirements:
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Meet physical demands (climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control).
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment.
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade.
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Meet physical demands (climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control).
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
