Job Description

We are seeking highly skilled Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) to work in long term and acute care facilities in the Ancaster area. This opportunity allows for above-average wages with travel compensation and accommodation.

Responsibilities:
  • To provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician's orders, and within the scope of practice of an RPN.
  • Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care.
  • Ensure timely and accessible admissions for residents, including a comprehensive orientation to the home and services offered.
  • Manage the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, adhering to protocols on assigned shifts.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet residents' physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs.
Requirements:
  • Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Able to work with persons with infectious diseases.
  • BLS Certificate.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR.
  • Proof of current immunizations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella (MMRV), negative TB skin test within one year, and Hepatitis B.
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shift times, 8-12 hours in length, and 'float' between units as needed.
  • Reliability in accepting agreed-upon facility/unit placements.
