Laboratory Scientist

Bureau Veritas Group is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Scientist to join our team in the Semi-Volatiles section of the Organic Department.
Key Responsibilities- Perform chemical analysis using a variety of laboratory instrumentation, including mass spectrometers and gas chromatographs.
- Prepare samples for complex analytical testing procedures, ensuring strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Operate instruments, maintain up-to-date maintenance and daily operating records, and ensure analytical records are properly labelled, completed, and filed.
- Clearly understand project requirements, including sample identification, method to be used, and QA/QC requirements.
- Meet quality and turnaround time specifications required by clients, ensuring samples are analyzed within holding time requirements.
- Provide updates on workstation status, including advance notification of any delays, and maintain control charts as per QA manual requirements.
- May direct work of Analyst I and Lab Tech staff, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Technical diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Analytical Chemistry experience, with GC/MS experience preferred.
- Knowledge of standard operating procedures and instrumental techniques.
- Good analytical laboratory skills, organizational skills, and multi-tasking abilities.
- Ability to work as part of a team, work under pressure to meet challenging deadlines, and communicate effectively.
