Job Title: Research Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Analyst to join our Research and Decision Support Department at the Simcoe County District School Board. As a Research Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting Indigenous education programming, initiatives, and research.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide research and analyses to support board and school improvement planning, board strategic directions, provincial accountability requirements, and the development, evaluation, and modification of board programs and services.
  • Conduct research and data analysis to explore data and outcomes for Indigenous learners, with a focus on special projects and research.
  • Collaborate with the research team to meet the goals of the Operational plan in support of the SCDSB strategic priorities.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • University undergraduate degree in Psychology, Sociology, or equivalent.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methodology, analysis, and reporting.
  • Three (3) years related employment experience preferably within public sector research and analytics.
  • Excellent skills using Microsoft Power BI, SPSS (syntax), survey development software, and familiarity with GIS.
  • Previous experience demonstrating a high level of attention to detail working with data.
  • Advanced skills using MS Office (Excel and Word) including creativity in presenting findings using MS Office PowerPoint or additional data visualization software.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work in a highly collaborative and professional working environment.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • A commitment to life-long learning in the field of educational and/or Indigenous research.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic, evolving environment and continuous changes in research and associated technology.
  • Ability to work independently and follow data collection and analysis workflow protocols.
Preferred Skills:
  • Post-graduate certification specializing in data management and analysis.
  • Advanced skills in using Microsoft Power BI, SPSS (syntax), and one or more programming or coding languages.
  • Expert presentation skills with PowerPoint or innovative data visualization software.

This is a permanent full-time position with a compensation range of $75,512 to $94,391 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Participation in the OMERS Pension Plan is mandatory for all full-time permanent employees.
