Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to join our team at Fed IT, a leading recruitment firm in Canada. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage help desk operations, providing timely and effective support to internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee the maintenance of various equipment, including workstations, servers, and networks.
  • Administer network infrastructure, wireless infrastructure, switches, and routers.
  • Work with software and hardware vendors to resolve technical issues.
  • Optimize database performance and control resource allocation.
  • Communicate regularly with technical personnel and operational staff to ensure data integrity and security.
  • Commission and install new applications, manage backups, restores, installations, and upgrades.
  • Assist in the development of new projects and systems, as required.

Requirements:

  • University degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in support, implementation, and administration.
  • Familiarity with web tools and technology, understanding network problems, and relevant server experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of systems, networks, protocols, and standards.
  • Ability to work closely with IT project managers, database programmers, and web developers.
  • Skills in project management and effective resource management.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues and errors.
