Quality Assurance Specialist

At Jealous Fruits, we are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of our products.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality inspections and reporting on all samples in a timely manner.
  • Participate in Health and Safety training as well as sampling training.
  • Sample fruit in the plant by block/customer & picker.
  • Sample fruit in the cooler.
  • Conduct CFIA sampling (crushing fruit to inspect for insect larvae).
  • Record and report findings to the QA Manager.
  • Clean workstations at the end of daily duty.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Excel and Word.
  • Good eye for detail and capacity for working with numbers.
  • Fluent in English.
  • A flexible team player who works well in a busy and demanding environment.
  • Ability to pass a background check for Canadian Air Cargo Security Requirements.

Working Conditions

Our working environment is challenging, and applicants should be aware that this is a farming environment. Work hours are dependent on crop maturity and weather. The role is agricultural employment, and overtime provisions do not apply. Be aware of working area, as machinery and pallet jacks will be in operation around you. The candidate must have the ability to work well with people of varying backgrounds and nationalities.

Job Type: Full-time - Contract Position

Contract Length: June - September

Compensation: $19 - 21 per hour, commensurate with experience
