About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team at Visual Information Products Inc. as an IT Infrastructure Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data to identify areas for improvement within our organization's IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect data from various sources to identify trends and areas for improvement within our IT infrastructure.
  • Database Development: Develop and maintain computer databases to store and manage our data.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Document reporting needs, queries, logic, results, and recommendations to other information systems professionals.
  • Team Collaboration: Liaise with staff on data requirements, collection, and availability.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Test data models and database management systems to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Database Design and Development: Design and develop databases to meet our business needs.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Operate database management systems to analyze data and generate reports.
  • Data Administration: Develop and implement data administration policy, standards, and models.
  • Research and Documentation: Research and document data requirements, data collection, and administration policy, and data access rules.
  • Policy Development: Develop policies and procedures for network access and usage and for the backup and recovery of data.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate teams of data administrators in the development and implementation of data policies, standards, and models.
  • Scripting and Development: Write scripts related to stored procedures and triggers.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Skills: Excel Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), PowerBuilder, R, MS SQL Server, MySQL, data analysis software, MS Office, Python.
