Job Overview

We are seeking a Child Development Professional to join our team at Growing Steps Children Centre Inc.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per yearJob Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties. They will also develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children. This includes supervising staff, trainees or volunteers, leading activities such as telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.

The ideal candidate will encourage children to express creativity through various mediums, engage them in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts. They will also guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits. Additionally, they will observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.

Required Skills and Qualifications

An Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate and First Aid Certificate are required. The ideal candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, flexibility, judgement, reliability, and the ability to work as part of a team. Creativity, honesty, punctuality, dependability, and attention to detail are also essential.
