Canadian Pacific (CP) and Kansas City Southern (KCS) have merged to form CPKC, the only truly North American railway. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement of traffic within our road territory and yard-terminal.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and coordinate daily yard-terminal/road operating plans to ensure safe and cost-effective operations.
- Supervise personnel and communicate across departments to ensure compliance with Local Service Operating Plan and Operating Plan.
- Standardize processes related to operating plan, arrival, classification, building, inspecting, and dispatching of trains.
- Provide leadership accountability for safety, service, productivity, and financial metrics.
- Lead Trains and Engines operating employees as a safety leader, promoting rule compliance and implementing preventative measures.
- Occasionally operate trains, maintaining certifications and licenses as per industry regulations.
- Assist in crew transportation to and from trains.
- Previous railway experience as a conductor, with Locomotive engineer qualification an asset.
- 2 years' supervisory experience in logistics or an operational environment preferred.
- Availability to work all types of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays in all weather conditions.
- Leadership presence with a drive for career advancement.
- Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve complex issues.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing task priorities and work situations.
- Excellent communication skills, including clear and concise instructions/directions over radio.
- Read and understand safety instructions, operating rules, regulations, and other written or printed material in English.
- High school diploma/general equivalency diploma, required.
- Valid driver's license, required.
- Proficient in MS Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.
