About the Role:

The Procurement Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of IKO's operations. As a key member of the purchasing team, you will be responsible for procuring office supplies, equipment, tools, products, and services to support the company's growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review requisition requirements and prepare accurate purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to raw material inventory control and variance reporting to optimize cost and efficiency.
  • Arrange for the disposal of surplus materials and conduct weekly raw material inventory counts to reconcile balances monthly.
  • Support plant Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) audit requirements and ensure compliance with internal and external reporting standards.
  • Research and compare suppliers and their offerings to select reliable, cost-efficient suppliers based on quality and product suitability.
  • Analyze financial reports, proposals, and pricing to determine reasonable costs and maintain accurate records of transactions, purchase orders, payments, and receipts.
  • Optimize cost while maintaining product and service quality and adhere to applicable laws, policies, and regulations governing procurement.
  • Establish and nurture positive, long-term relationships with suppliers and verify deliveries to maintain trustworthiness.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in procurement or supply chain management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting principles and business practices.
  • Familiarity with Mapics and/or JD Edwards systems (preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and effective project prioritization.
  • Independent work capability.
  • Analytical mindset with accurate data entry skills (attention to detail is essential).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
