Job Overview

The Saskatoon Health Region is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team. As a Physician Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment. This is a part-time regular position that offers opportunities for professional growth and development.

About the Position

This position involves working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, requiring excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will have a degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program, current certification as a Canadian Certified Physician Assistant, and valid Class 5 driver's license. They will also have membership and licensure in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan as a PA and eligibility for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (for applicants outside of Saskatchewan).

Key Responsibilities

- Provide high-quality patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of patient conditions
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of care
- Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and enhance the quality of care
- Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research, technologies, and best practices in the field

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan
- Current certification as a Canadian Certified Physician Assistant (CCPA) through the Physicians' Assistants Certification Committee (PACC)
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Membership and licensure in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan as a PA
- Eligibility for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (for applicants outside of Saskatchewan)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificate (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (PALS)
- Trauma experience or training
