Job Title: Logistics Operations Manager

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Operations Manager to join our team at Peoplesource Staffing Solutions. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of warehousing, including day-to-day operations, continuous improvement, functional representation, and supporting the strategic vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and coaching to direct reports in the performance of their day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Achieve warehouse operational objectives by preparing and completing action plans, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; and achieving KPIs.
  • Strategically manage warehouse operations in compliance with company policies and vision.
  • Support cross-functional supply chain initiatives and utilize continuous improvement methodologies with the team to improve performance across safety, service, quality, and costs.
  • Develop and maintain best practices for modern warehousing.
  • Manage third-party services in the day-to-day, ensuring they meet or exceed Agreement KPIs.
  • Ensure FIFO and Cycle counts are followed.
  • Provide overall management of a team or business area, including management of individuals indirectly through subordinate supervisors and managers.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience required, including a minimum of five years in a management role.
  • Distribution/Logistics experience in the food industry, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Post-secondary diploma in a related field (an asset) or relative equal work experience in a related field.
  • Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS, and all other workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Team-player with excellent leadership skills, able to motivate others, negotiate effectively, and interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work/excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential.
  • General computer skills (e.g., MS Office).
  • Lean 6 Sigma Green Belt (minimum) an asset.
  • PLog or CITT an asset.
