Health Care Assistant

Job Summary:
As a Health Care Aide at Southern Health-Santé Sud, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to residents and patients in our facilities. Under the guidance of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, or Registered Psychiatric Nurses, you will assist with daily living activities, promote independence, and maintain a safe and respectful environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents and patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents and patients
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
- Document resident and patient information accurately and confidentially
Requirements:
- Proficiency in both official languages (English/French)
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Acute Care)
- One to two years' experience working in a health care setting preferred
Working Conditions:

- Work with residents and patients with varying levels of cognitive and physical abilities
