Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across the country, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining a safe and efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities:- Transportation: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to all relevant regulations and safety protocols.
- Logistics: Arrange travel, related itineraries, and make reservations to ensure smooth and efficient transportation.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Documentation: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, as well as maintain accurate driver logs.
- Safety: Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, and adhere to all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Certifications: AZ class license, Air Brakes Endorsement, and a valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
- Experience: Previous experience as a Long Haul Truck Driver is an asset.
- Physical Demands: Ability to handle heavy loads, work in a physically demanding environment, and sit for extended periods.
- Personal Suitability: Excellent oral communication, flexibility, judgment, organization, reliability, and teamwork skills.
This is an on-the-road job with a permanent schedule, requiring 35 to 40 hours of work per week. The language of work is English.
