Job Description

At TEEMA, we're seeking a skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll be responsible for designing and developing new automation leveraging platform infrastructure and tooling. Your expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and vanilla JavaScript will be crucial in improving monitoring, observability, and alerting for our backend services. Ensuring the security of customer data is paramount, and you'll play a vital role in protecting our customers' information. Additionally, you'll contribute to our Dashboard Core Services product roadmap, working closely with our team to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop automation leveraging platform infrastructure and tooling
  • Improve monitoring, observability, and alerting for backend services
  • Ensure security is always considered first to protect customer data
  • Contribute to the Dashboard Core Services product roadmap

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of direct relevant experience in software development using Node.js (JavaScript or TypeScript) or similar language
  • Experience working on systems that are highly-reliable, maintainable, and scalable
  • General infrastructure knowledge (CLI, SSH, scheduling, etc.)
  • Ability to deliver work incrementally to get feedback and iterate over solutions
  • Strong attitude to the team: ownership, accountability, and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working on a fully-distributed team
  • Familiarity with good engineering practices and testing

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and MongoDB
  • Knowledge of cloud-native environments and CLI tools
  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerized platforms
  • Linux proficiency, particularly in a Mac environment

Required: TYPESCRIPT; JAVASCRIPT; NODE.JS; SCHEDULING; STRUCTURED SOFTWARE

Must be in the US or Canada


Products:

Root Tenant Authority (RTA), Manage.auto.com (backend), and RTA Creation Kit


Focus:

Building dashboards, creating building blocks for dashboards, consolidating various dashboards into a single system


Role Requirements:
  • Primary Skills: Strong Node.js skills with proficiency in TypeScript and vanilla JavaScript
  • Backend Focus: Although familiarity with full-stack environments is needed, the role is primarily backend
  • Cloud Platforms: AWS (primary) and Azure
  • Containerization: Experience with Kubernetes and containerized platforms, specifically an internal platform called Layer Zero
  • Data Stores: Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and MongoDB
  • Infrastructure Knowledge: General knowledge of cloud-native environments and CLI tools
  • Testing Frameworks: Any Node.js testing framework (Mocha, Cypress, etc.)
  • Linux Proficiency: Comfort with Linux shell commands, particularly in a Mac environment
