About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Winter Supervisor of Maintenance to join our team in Nova Scotia. As a key member of our Highway Operations Division, you will play a vital role in ensuring safe road network conditions throughout the winter season.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising snow and ice control activities, utilizing expert planning and organizational skills to effectively utilize equipment and resources. You will provide direction, technical support, and daily supervision while monitoring and maintaining department levels of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise snow and ice control activities
  • Plan and coordinate routes, staffing, equipment assignments, and repair
  • Oversee work on job sites
  • Ensure stocks of road salt and traction sand are replenished daily

You will also conduct preliminary site investigations, prepare cost estimates, and inspect maintenance contracts. We require solutions-oriented individuals with excellent client service skills who can adapt to fast-paced environments.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma and 4 years of related experience (2 of which must be in snow and ice control services)
  • Civil Engineering Technology Diploma and 2 years of experience in snow and ice control services
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
