Tax Specialist

As a Tax Manager at RSM Canada LLP, you will play a key role in advising public and private multinational enterprises. This position focuses on providing exceptional tax services to clients while collaborating with cross-functional teams to mitigate risk and optimize core tax functions.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a Performance Advisor, mentor or coach to one or more employees, providing honest and timely performance feedback.
- Train and develop staff members to enhance their technical skills.
- Provide detailed review and analysis of tax returns for accuracy and compliance.
- Assist the assurance team with tax provision reviews and prepare and review tax provision working papers for non-assurance clients.
- Manage risk for the client and the firm by identifying and mitigating potential issues.
- Communicate effectively with clients on multiple complex issues while maintaining a client-centric approach.
- Advise clients on a full spectrum of corporate tax services, including planning, research, compliance, and tax accounting.
- Review research findings to ensure conclusions align with firm policies and professional standards.
- Contribute to new business development, extended service, and tax issue recognition for existing clients.
- Stay up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law to provide informed guidance.
- Bachelor's Degree - preferably in Accounting or a related field of study.
- CPA Designation is required.
- Working towards or completion of Masters of Tax or CPA In-depth Tax Program is preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Public Accounting, preferably in a tax-focused role.
- Ability to work closely with clients to answer questions or collect necessary information for tax service requirements.
- Experience with Corporations, Partnerships, and Trusts is an asset.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Working knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act and technical aspects of tax compliance and accounting.
- Strong technical skills in tax preparation, developing tax focus areas.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience in dealing with international tax matters and tax review is a plus.
The estimated salary range for this role is $81,500 - $130,500 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
