Job Summary:

As a Truck Driver - Long Haul Route Specialist at GKM Logistics Inc., you will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining a fleet of trucks, transporting goods and materials across international routes. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently as part of a two-person team or convoy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive trucks to transport goods and materials across international routes, obtaining special permits and documents as required
  • Operate and maintain trucks, including performing pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
  • Oversee the condition of vehicles, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs and record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations

Certifications and Licenses:

  • AZ class license
  • Air Brakes Endorsement

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to travel for extended periods, including overnight stays
  • Ability to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs)

Working Conditions:

  • Physically demanding role, requiring long periods of sitting and attention to detail
  • Overtime required, with flexibility to adapt to changing schedules
