Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Child Care Worker Assistant to join our team at the Behavioural Health Foundation. As a key member of our child care team, you will play a vital role in supporting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist early childhood educators in implementing programs that promote children's development
  • Engage children in activities, such as storytelling, singing, and crafts
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • Monitor children's progress and report to parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss children's progress and challenges
  • Ensure compliance with licensing regulations
  • Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliability and punctuality
Working Conditions
  • Child care centre or day care centre or nursery school setting
  • Repetitive tasks and bending, crouching, kneeling
