Job Summary

Drake International is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Team Lead to oversee the daily operations of our client's distribution center in Whitby, Ontario. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods, managing a team of warehouse staff, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate the daily warehousing activities, including receiving, inventory management, and shipping operations.
  • Manage a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to company policies.
  • Schedule and assign tasks to team members, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Monitor inventory levels, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions to optimize inventory management.
  • Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of warehouse operations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity in the warehouse.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and implement solutions to improve warehouse operations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and protocols, with the ability to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 40-50 pounds and stand for long periods, with a high level of physical stamina.
