As a BCSD Teacher - Deaf Studies/ASL, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of Deaf and hard of hearing students in our district.

About the Role

This 1.00 FTE ongoing position is part of the British Columbia Provincial School for the Deaf (BCSD) team, which serves the educational needs of Deaf and hard of hearing students in the province. As a teacher in this role, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective instruction in Deaf Studies and ASL, while also collaborating with colleagues to provide a comprehensive educational experience for students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of Deaf and hard of hearing students
  • Teach Deaf Studies and ASL courses to students in grades K-12
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
