About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who are passionate about making a positive impact on our community. As a Sustainability Programs Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing programs, policies, and initiatives to support the City's environmental sustainability plans and strategies
  • Collaborating with City staff, stakeholders, and community groups to identify and implement initiatives that advance sustainability progress
  • Providing technical expertise and support to City staff and stakeholders on environmental sustainability issues
  • Developing and tracking sustainability indicators and metrics to measure progress towards our environmental sustainability goals
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, planning, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in a related field, including project management, contract administration, business case development, and budgeting processes
  • Sound knowledge of environmental sustainability principles, best practices, strategies, technologies, objectives, and systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and facilitation skills
