About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer/Planner to join our Operations team at ATX Networks. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for managing a key portfolio and providing support to internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze supply and demand requirements, aligning with PLM on the forecast for material to expedite, push out, cancel or order as required; Provide a 12 month rolling forecast to suppliers
  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies to maintain inventory at optimal levels
  • Managing key supplier relationships; negotiating pricing and contracts with favourable terms
  • Validating and approving supplier invoices regularly and submitting them to finance for payment
  • Sourcing of new suppliers through RFQ process including negotiation of terms
  • Collaborate and provide feedback to cross functional teams regarding supply concerns that will impact multiple departments
  • Creating purchase orders in compliance with internal processes and procedures; Performing purchase order maintenance real time and following up with suppliers for confirmations of new orders and delivery updates on past due items
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, production, distribution, order management, sales and the Executive leadership team
  • Pull and analyze data summarizing expected revenue and risks to revenue for quarterly planning
  • Backlog management and timely feedback to order management on expected Customer ship dates

Requirements

  • College Diploma in Operations Management or a related field, combined with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar position as described above, preferably within an electronics manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of Epicor is considered an asset.
  • A background with planning and buying for new product introduction from a research and development phase to prototype and production launch
  • Knowledge of international shipping policies (customs documentation)
  • Customer oriented with a commitment to providing a superior service experience
  • Excellent organizational, time management, analytical and follow-up skills
  • Superior communication, skills both oral and written
  • Proficient with various computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and internet applications
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
  • Flexibility to work overtime as required
