Our Vancouver facility is seeking a Production Chemist to join our team. This role involves performing duties related to the manufacturing and processing of highly regulated products within the Medical Isotopes production area.

Responsibilities:

  • Learns, understands, and implements Medical Isotope process procedures, as well as those pertaining to radiation and industrial safety.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform the complete production process cycle, including material, equipment, and facility preparation, product processing, order dispensing, product packaging, process documentation, and emergency shutdown procedures.
  • Performs general housekeeping and other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary graduate (3 years) education or related experience in an appropriate science/technical discipline is required.
  • Minimum 1-year experience in radioisotope production is necessary.

Additional Requirements:

  • Works under general direction and guidance. Decisions are normally made based on interpretation of well-defined policies and precedent.
  • Physical requirements include good manual dexterity and grip strength, pushing/pulling hand carts with a force of up to 25kgs on an occasional basis, lifting up to 5kgs on a frequent basis, and 10kgs on an occasional basis, working with arms and hands on a frequent basis.
  • The position requires the successful completion of a vision screening and hearing test as a pre-employment condition, being free of a communicable disease, and passing a Health and Hygiene medical assessment.
