Job Title: Cook

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at A&W. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food to the highest standards, ensuring that every meal meets our quality control standards.

Job Description:
  • Work Term: Permanent

  • Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
Work Setting:

Our fast-paced kitchen environment requires a team player who can work well under pressure. As a Cook, you will be responsible for maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, as well as cleaning kitchen and work areas.

Tasks:
  • Determine the size of food portions and costs
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
  • Clean kitchen and work areas
  • Manage kitchen operations
  • Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit
  • Package take-out food
  • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
  • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items
  • Short order cooking and food preparation
