Journeyman Technician - Heavy Truck and Coach

Brandt is seeking a qualified Journeyman Technician to join our team at our Sudbury Peterbilt location. As a Heavy Truck and Coach Technician, you will be responsible for the diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of trucks, trailers, buses, and coaches in a shop environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the working condition of trucks, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, and repair on-road equipment efficiently and effectively.
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely.
  • Utilize related instruments, hand/power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems.
  • Accurately document machine information, actions taken, and time spent on work orders.
  • Continually assess service task hazards and perform work safely and to accepted standards.
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
  • Collaborate with equipment engineers to diagnose and fulfill warranty requirements.
  • Road test equipment and verify repairs as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with equipment engineers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Outstanding knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Proven computer and technical aptitude for diagnostics and calibration work.
  • Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs.
  • Strong time-management skills to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, showing an appreciation of customer needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • A commitment to high-quality customer service.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
