About the Role:

The Training Supervisor is a key member of the Distribution Centre team, responsible for managing all training requirements and developing warehouse new hires to meet desired expectations in a timely fashion while maintaining good attendance and working safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee the Operational Training Program for all front-line colleagues;
  • Provide direct supervision to the Training Team;
  • Develop and implement training schedules and assignments to ensure effective and efficient training coverage for all new hires;
  • Make recommendations to the General Manager for Training and Retention initiatives, developing and implementing those initiatives;
  • Improve/Increase overall retention % based on KPI's for turnover rates;
  • Coverage for other Senior Operations Supervisors as required;
  • Direct the operations of the warehouse personnel to achieve prescribed objectives;
  • Match the skill and background of personnel to work required;
  • Assess and track performance management to ensure appropriate application of performance evaluation system for direct reports;
  • Develop and implement daily plan for allocating equipment to jobs;
  • Ensure that equipment is utilized in the most efficient manner;
  • Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with customers and ensure that all personnel do the same in a timely fashion;
  • Actively participate in organizational culture initiatives creating a culture where colleagues feel engaged and appreciated.

Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts (morning, afternoon, night), including weekends, with varying tasks;
  • 1-3 years of training experience & knowledge, preferably within a Distribution Centre type setting;
  • 1-3 years of Supervisory experience;
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate others;
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and problem-solving skills;
  • Computer systems knowledge (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook) an asset;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
